Cookbook Test Drive: SABAI 🍃 Hot Thai Kitchen
I made 5 recipes from SABAI! The new cookbook by Pailin Chongchitnant of Hot Thai Kitchen.
I'm so glad I bought this book. Everything I made was SO good, and my friends loved it. Especially the Panang Chicken Curry! The sauce was by far the best curry sauce I've ever had.

I'm Paula. I'm a former professional cook and overall eating enthusiast.
I started this channel because I love making dinner and I love eating dinner.. but mostly it's because all I've ever wanted in life is to have my own cooking show. When I didn't get a callback after submitting my tape to Food Network in 2003, I put that dream to rest for a while. Until I clued in, I can do it myself on UA-cam!
I love sharing the tips I've learned from professional kitchens and tidbits from my holistic nutrition education. But mostly I just want to show you how to make dinner. (See what I did there?) 😄
My cooking style is simple but flavourful. I cook with a lot of veggies but I'm not vegetarian. For me, a typical dinner is plant-forward, budget-friendly, non-fussy, and delicious. As a step-mom, I make a lot of family-friendly comfort food, and a lot of simple, realistic dinners for one (or two).

I made waffles today using a very similar recipe from a Mennonite cookbook I bought in the 1980s. They were called High Protein Waffles. They turn out soft and fluffy, and few survive the first sitting but if some do they freeze well. Thanks!

Oh my gosh, just found you!!!! In US and LOVE perogies!!!!!! I usually buy a box, boil them and eat the whole box! Can never wait long enough to crisp them up!!!! The balsamic ones sound to die for!!!!! I definitely am going to have to make those! Actually they ALL sound so good, I'll have to try them all i guess!!! And the statement of being a "real" cook describes you to a T!!! You seem to just try things that you like and obviously you have great taste!!!! You are a joy to watch!

INGREDIENTS 250 g (1 c.) cottage cheese 1 egg 70 g (1/2 c.) all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 60 ml (1/4 c.)milk or alt milk 1/2 tsp Oil or butter for greasing the griddleoptional if using a non-stick griddle INSTRUCTIONS Combine cottage cheese, egg, and milk in a large measuring jug or blender. Blend until smooth, using a stick blender or regular blender. Add the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to over mix. Allow the pancake batter to rest for 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat a nonstick griddle to 325F. Lightly grease the griddle (optional), and scoop the pancake batter onto the griddle. If using a 1/2 cup measuring cup as a scoop, you should end up with 4 large pancakes. Allow the pancakes to cook on the first side until bubbles form on the surface-approximately 5 minutes. Flip the pancakes, and cook for another 3-5 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown on both sides. Notes: can use, bananas, pumpkin, shredded zucchini, ground oatmeal or almond flour, etc.

One of the best things I’ve learned from this channel is the hummus. I roast some veggies doesn’t matter what kind I’ve tried a bunch. I use a store bought roasted garlic hummus with a little more garlic, salt ,pepper , lemon zest and juice. Smear it on a plate top the roasted veggies on top! So dang good!
